The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition gets its official launch right here in Malaysia and will retail for RM2,299 with LTE when it is available in stores from November 7.

The Note 10.1 2014 Edition improves on the old Note 10.1 in every aspect. The 10.1-inch LCD display with 2560×1600 pixels (299 ppi) packs double the resolution of the previous Note 10.1. Powering the device is a super fast 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor with 3GB of RAM and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 64GB capacity.

The rear camera is a 8 megapixel unit while the front shooter gets a 2 megapixel sensor, both with 1080p video capabilities (no 4K video). Battery life is a claimed 10 hours with a bigger 8,220mAh battery compared to the old version’s 7,000mAh unit. At the front, the 2014 model now comes with physical home button flanked by 2 capacitive buttons ala most Samsung smartphones. The location of the buttons suggests that the Note 10.1 is designed to be used in landscape mode most of the time but the button placement seemed a little odd to us.

Being a Note device, you also get Samsung’s improved S-Pen with enhanced features similar the one you get on the Galaxy Note 3. Also similar to the Galaxy Note 3 is the faux leather back panel.
