HTC One Max details confirmed. 5.9″ aluminium clad smart phone with fingerprint scanner

The HTC One Max is now official with a larger 5.9″ Full HD display that does a pixel density of 373ppi (pixels per inch). It retains the similar aluminium clad design as its 4.7″ sibling HTC One and its smaller 4.3″ HTC One mini.

Powering the device is a 1.7GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM which is similar as the HTC One and comes with either 16GB or 32GB storage options. Unlike the HTC One, the aluminium back cover on the One max is removable which gives you access to the expandable microSD slot and micro SIM. The battery however is non-user removable. It retains the same front facing Boom Sound stereo speakers and UltraPixel camera which shoots an effective 4MP photos from its 1/3″ Sensor. It has an aperture size of f/2.0 and a 28mm lens. Over at the front, it comes with a 2.1MP camera that is mated with a 88 degree wide angle lens.

New with the HTC One Max is a finger print scanner that’s located at the back underneath the camera. Unlike the iPhone 5S‘s seamless Touch ID, the HTC One Max fingerprint scanner works like a conventional scanner where you would need to swipe your finger on it. Out of the box, it runs on the latest Android 4.3 and HTC’s newer Sense 5.5. Overall it weighs 217 grams with its 3,300mAh battery and has a thickness of 10.29mm.

Compared with the latest smart phones, the One Max seems to be a notch down against its 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 running rivals particularly the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Overall, the One Max appears as a larger version of the HTC One that’s updated with a fingerprint scanner, bigger display and battery.
