Google’s eBook store, Play Books, is now available in Malaysia and it is accessible on both iOS and Android devices. If you have multiple devices, books are seamlessly synced across your devices allowing you to continue reading your favourite paperback even if you change devices.
A quick browse reveals that books are reasonably priced (Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs is RM40, Ender’s Game is RM22 and Catching Fire is RM27) but the selection, while varied, is rather limited. If you have a more avant garde taste in books you might not be able to find what you’re looking for.
The Books app is pre-installed in some Android devices but if it’s not just head on over to Google Play store or the Apple App Store and search for Google Play Books and you’re set. Alternatively you can access the Google Play Store website here.
