UPDATE: We’ve just unboxed the Galaxy Note 3 and compared its telco plans from Celcom, DiGi, Maxis & U Mobile.
Samsung today as officially launched its Galaxy Note 3 in Malaysia with the device going on sale on 25th September. The price as revealed earlier is RM2,399 for its 4G LTE model that runs on a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. For those that prefer the non-4G version with 1.9GHz Exynos Octa-core processor, there’s still no word on its availability right now. Not forgetting also is the accompanying Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch which is priced at RM999 outright.
During the launch, Samsung Malaysia has also introduced a Galaxy Lifestyle Rewards that offers Galaxy Note 3 owners to enjoy a range of service and subscriptions worth RM1,500. This includes 90 day free TM WiFI access, 2 years subscription of 50GB Dropbox cloud storage, TheStar e-Paper, ViKi, MPH Online and much more.
In terms of bundling and promotions, DiGi & Celcom has started offering pre-order or bookings for the Galaxy Note 3 from as low as RM1,319 and RM1,538 respectively. Both telcos are also giving out free Galaxy Gear watches with DiGi pairing it for those who opt for the SmartPlan 148 contact while Celcom is offering the watch for the first 100 subscribers. Both telcos are only offering 24 months contract duration at the moment.
If you plan to buy it outright without being tied to contracts, SenHeng is also offering the Galaxy Note 3 from their online store which gives additional bluetooth headset and one year extra warranty for its PlusOne card members. U Mobile has also joined the bandwagon by initiating its registration of interest.
Samsung too is also giving out 100 Galaxy Gear smart watches in a form of an online contest. If you’re eligible, the free watch is redeemed at their roadshow event at the Gardens on 25th September.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy Note 3 is its 3rd generation phablet which now comes with a 5.7″ Full HD Super AMOLED display and comes powered with a top notch quad-core processor and 3GB of RAM. It’s signature S-Pen has also been further improved for greater usability as well. The Galaxy Note 3 now also offers 4K video recording from its 13MP shooter and its battery capacity has also being bumped up to 3,200mAh.
