Nokia is working on a large format smartphone and it plans to reveal the device in September a report in Reuters has revealed citing a source “familiar with the plan”. Along with the 6-inch Lumia, Nokia is also planning to announce a tablet based on Windows RT.
Meanwhile, Windows Phone Central say that its sources has confirmed that the 6-inch Lumia will feature a 1080p display, a quad-core processor and a 20MP camera (likely to be similar to the one featured on the Lumia 1020). The device will be thin with a hump at the back to accommodate a large camera sensor.
The event is planned to happen across two days from September 26 to 27. We have no doubt that Nokia can build magnificent hardware and services to support the hardware (the Smart Camera app is great, Here is a better experience than Apple’s Maps) but we’re still wondering if sticking with Microsoft is the right move.
