Apart from the Galaxy Note 3, Samsung is expected to announce a smart watch at its upcoming Unpacked event on 4th September. Rumoured as the Galaxy Gear, the specs are said to be powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Exynos 4212 processor with 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth and NFC Connectivity. In terms of screen, it is rumoured to be a 1.67″ AMOLED display that does 320×320 and comes with a 2MP camera which is likely to be used for video conference. So far there’s no mentions whether the smart phone would be using a flexible curved display.
Honestly, having a dual-core processor seems to be rather overkill and hopefully it won’t be a device that you would need to charge on a daily basis. As comparison, a more basic monochrome and non-touch screen smart watch like the Pebble would last nearly a week with average use. What do you look for in a smart watch?
