LG Vu III in the pipeline with 5.2″ display & Snapdragon 800 processor

After announcing its latest flagship LG G2, the Korean maker is reported to be working on a 3rd generation of the oddly shaped LG Optimus Vu that’s pictured above. In terms of display size, it gets a bump minor from 5.0″ to 5.2″ with a slight increase of screen resolution of 1280×960. You’ll notice the weird display resolution as the Vu comes with a squarish 4:3 display aspect ratio as opposed to the conventional widescreen 16:9 format used on most smart phones today.

Like most high end devices today, the Vu III will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and comes with a 13MP shooter as well as support for LTE Advanced. The device is said to be revealed at IFA in Berlin where the next Note 3 is expected to be announced as well.

The LG Optimus Vu series is initially seen as a Note challenger but somehow the specs of the display doesn’t seem to live up to today’s high end standards. As comparison, its other phablet the LG Optimus G Pro comes with a Full 1080p HD 5.5″ display which overshadow’s the current Note II’s 720p HD display.
