Sony Mobile seems to be on a roll and they have recently introduced its new Xperia M which comes in single or Dual SIM variants. The Xperia M features a more compact 4.0″ TFT display that does 854×480 resolution and is powered with a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm processor mated with 1GB of RAM. On-board it comes with 4GB of storage that’s expandable with microSD and a 5MP camera with Exmor RS feature. There’s also a front facing VGA camera for video calls.
In terms of positioning, the Xperia M is a notch below the earlier announced Xperia L. The Xperia L has a slightly bigger 4.3″ display, 8MP shooter and more generous 8GB of storage. With Sony pushing for seamless connectivity with its family of products, the Xperia M comes with NFC support as standard.
Design wise, it looks like a baby Xperia ZL with the omni-balance look and customisable illumination at the bottom. There’s a choice of 4 colours to choose from – Black, White, Purple and Lime. For those needing to snap pictures in a hurry, the Xperia M also comes with a dedicated camera button as well. Overall it is rather thin at 9.3mm and weighs just 115 grams.
