Samsung Galaxy S4 mini officially announced

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is now official ahead of Samsung’s upcoming June 20th event. Just like the Samsung Galaxy S III mini, the Galaxy S4 mini is the little sibling of its current flagship Galaxy S4. Even the design is rather identical as well.

Just like the name suggests, it comes with smaller dimensions packed with mid-range level hardware. Over at the front, the Galaxy S4 mini comes with a pocketable 4.3″ Super AMOLED display that does a modest qHD resolution of 960×540. Powering the device is a dual-core 1.7GHz processor with 1.5GB of RAM which is similar as its big bro Galaxy Mega. On-board it comes with 8GB of storage (5GB usable) which can be expanded with microSD card. In the imaging department it has a front facing 1.9MP camera and a main 8MP camera at the rear. Dimension wise, the Galaxy S4 mini is 8.94mm thick and weighs a rather light 107 grams.

Out of the box, it runs on the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and it is powered with a rather generous 1,900mAh battery. In terms of variants, there will be 3 versions – 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+ and 3G Dual-SIM which comes in both Black Mist and White Frost colours. The 4G LTE model will have an added support for NFC. For those craving for TV remote features, you’ll be pleased to know that it comes with a built-in InfraRed Blaster port as well.

Head after the break for more product images.
