Acer previews Malaysia’s First Intel-Based Smartphone

Acer has just given a quick glimpse of its upcoming devices that’s coming to Malaysia really soon. First up is the Acer Liquid C1 that runs on Intel’s single core 1.2GHz Atom Z2420 Processor, 1GB of RAM and comes with a 4.3″ display pushing 960×540 pixels resolution. Included is 4GB of on-board storage that’s expandable via microSD. In terms of imaging, it has a 8MP shooter with a front facing VGA camera. Out of the box, it runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which is upgradable to Jelly Bean. The Liquid C1 is juiced up with a 2,000mAh battery which weights 140 grams and has a thickness of 10mm.

The next device is the Liquid Z120 which is a entry level android smartphone. It comes with a smaller 3.5″ 480×320 display and a rather decent 1GHz single core processor, 512MB RAM and a 3MP camera. Surprisingly it runs on the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS and it supports dual-SIM. Powering the device is a 1,300mAh battery and weighs 110 grams with a thickness of 12.25mm.

Pricing wise, the Liquid C1 is expected to be priced below RM1,000 which is pretty decent for a mid-spec device while the entry level Liquid Z120 is priced at RM399. Both devices are expected to hit stores next month.
