HTC’s flagship J Butterfly which was initially released in Japan has finally made its debut in China. It is simply called the HTC Butterfly, dropping the J moniker for obvious reasons. Internally it remains unchanged with the impressive 5″ Full HD Super LCD3 display that pushes 1920×1080 pixels resolution, a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Unlike the US market specific Droid DNA, the HTC Butterfly comes with expandable storage via microSD.
It also comes with a f/2.0 8MP camera at the back and a full HD capable 2.1MP front facing camera. Juicing up the Butterfly is a 2,020mAh battery which looks quite little compared to the massive hardware it runs on. In terms of connectivity, the HTC Butterfly supports the familiar HSPA/WCDMA/GSM bands with LTE being absent in this model.
You can check out the full specs over at HTC Butterfly‘s product page.
With the HTC Butterfly announced as a 3rd variant, we wonder how much longer HTC would take to release an international version for the rest of us. It was earlier rumoured that the international version would be called HTC DLX/Deluxe which comes with a distinctive red ring around the camera lens.
Head after the break for more HTC Butterfly videos.
