HTC J butterfly with impressive 5″ Full HD Display

The rumoured 5″ HTC device has materialised in the form of HTC J butterfly, which is a Japan market specific model. While screen size of 5″ and above isn’t that new, the HTC J butterfly outshines the rest with its Full HD display resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. That’s an incredibly dense 440ppi (pixels per inch), almost a 100ppi more than closest competition.

Under the hood, the HTC J butterfly comes with top hardware specs of quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 (MDM9615 + APQ8064) processor and 2GB of RAM. There’s 16GB of storage which is expandable via microSD. In the imaging department, it comes with a familiar f/2.0 8MP camera coupled with a front facing 2.1MP camera. Powering the device is a 2,020mAh battery which is rather small for a phone in this category. As the latest high-end device, the HTC J butterfly runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

Dimension wise, it is 9.1mm thick and weighs 140grams, which is slightly heavier, wider and taller than the HTC One X+. As comparison the HTC One X+ is 8.9mm thick and 135 grams heavy. There are 3 colour options available – Black, White & Red.

The HTC J butterfly will be available in Japan in December and hopefully HTC will release an international version as well. Full product details over at HTC Japan website.

Check out videos and images of the HTC J butterfly after the break.
