The Nexus 7 with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS was launched with just 8GB and 16GB option. With no micro SD memory expansion slot available, most users would crave for bigger storage space on board. While there are rumours circulating that a bigger 32GB version is in the works, finally there’s a purported proof that such model does exist.
A Japanese buyer had ordered for a 16GB version but to his surprise, he has gotten a 32GB model instead. As seen from the image above, the device has 27.58GB of usable space. Since the original box has 16GB model and serial labels all over, this looks like a mistake at the factory line.
With the 16GB version being sold here for RM999, a 32GB version for a couple of extra hundred ringgit would be a nice option. A source from UK retailer suggested that there’s a possibility that the 32GB version will be offered as a replacement for the 16GB at the same price point.
Its closest upcoming rival, the iPad Mini is expected to be launched this month with a similar 7″ like dimensions. To meet expected strong demand, Apple is said to be preparing at least 10 million units for the year end season.
