LG has just announced its latest 5″ smart phone, the Optimus VU II. It has just been 7 months since the original Optimus VU was introduced and already LG has released a successor so soon. The new Optimus VU II now gets an updated 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 S4 processor, bumped up 2GB of RAM and a bigger 2,150mAh battery. As comparison, previous version had 1GB of RAM and 2,080mAh battery.
It still maintains the same with a 5″ display that does 1024×768 pixels at 4:3 aspect ratio. It is 9.4mm thick and weighs 159 grams. The Optimus VU II runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it also comes with NFC and wireless charging.
So far the announcement is for the Korean domestic market only. Originally seen as a competitor for Galaxy Note, this could be seen as a reaction to close the gap with the Note II that’s being rolling out globally.
