After revealing the RAZR M, Motorola has finally announced its first ever Intel based smart phone, the Motorola RAZR i which is powered by Intel’s 2.0GHz Atom processor. As comparison, the earlier announced Motorola RAZR M runs on dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 processor. Being a single core processor at a higher clock speed, it would be interesting to see how it performs day to day against the current mainstream dual-core and quad-core processors. According to Motorola, the Intel processor allows the camera to be loaded in less than 1 second and with multi-shot mode, it is capable of shooting 10 photos in under 1 second. That’s a crazy 10 frames per second which is faster than HTC One X‘s 4fps burst mode.
The rest of the hardware remains identical as the RAZR M with its Edge to Edge 4.3″ Super AMOLED ADvanced qHD display that supports a resolution of 960×540 (256 ppi), 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage which is expandable via micro SD. Over at the back, it comes with a 8MP Full HD camera, front facing VGA camera and it is powered by a 2,000mAh battery. Out of the box, the RAZR i runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which will be upgradeable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The RAZR is weighs 126g and it is 8.3mm thick, which is similar as the RAZR M.
Like most RAZR models, the RAZR is comes with the iconic Kevlar back, diamond cut aircraft grade aluminium frame, Corning Gorilla Glass and Splash Guard coating. The Motorola RAZR i will be available in selected European and American markets beginning in October. It will debut with Black colour version with the white version to roll out later at selected markets.
