Sony LT30p with Krait processor & 13MP camera gets early preview

After a barrage of entry level smart phones, Sony is expected to bring up the big guns next. One of it is the Sony LT30p (Mint) that comes with a 13MP camera, dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 Krait processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that’s expandable via microSD. With the Xperia S specs starting to look dated, the LT30 looks like a worthy high end device to keep Sony up to par with its rivals.

While it is yet to be announced officially, Mobile-Review has managed to get an early preview of the device. In terms of design, it looks more minimalist with no fancy transparent belt and illumination. Over at the front, it is all black with no dedicated buttons which is replaced with default on-screen buttons. The left houses the micro USB port without cover flaps, while the rest of the buttons such as power, volume rocker and dedicated camera is placed on the right. Interesting to point out is the microSD expansion and Micro-SIM slot which is placed at the right side with a flush cover. With all the necessary ports and slots placed externally, the LT30p lacks a removable back cover which is a good thing to avoid collecting dust like the Xperia S.

The LT30p runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and in terms of performance, it is still seen to be a notch lower than the Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X. In terms of display, while it offers a similar 4.3″ screen with 1280×720 resolution as the Xperia S, it might be possible that it will feature WhiteMagic for bright outdoor viewing.

Head after the break for more pics of the LT30p.
