Leaked information reveals two BlackBerry 10 devices, one with full physical QWERTY, the other a full touchscreen unit

With so much talk of gloom and doom surrounding RIM, the Canadian company has it all to show for in its upcoming BlackBerry 10 OS. The new OS will also bring with it new devices and there has been some debate as to whether these devices will carry on BlackBerry’s tradition of physical QWERTY keyboards.

A leaked slide purportedly from RIM tells us that the physical QWERTY may still live on with BlackBerry. From the leaked slide, it appears that there will be two new BlackBerry devices – the L-Series and N-Series – both running BlackBerry 10.

The L-Series, which looks very much like the Dev Alpha, features a 4.2-inch 768×1280 356ppi full touchscreen while the N-Series brings a 3.1-inch 720×720 330ppi touchscreen to the traditional full physical QWERTY keyboard BlackBerry form factor. Aside from the screen size and resolution, nothing else is known about the devices.

In addition to the rumoured devices, another leaked slide suggests that BlackBerry 10 will also come with a refreshed BBM. BBM for BlackBerry 10 looks to feature customisable themes allowing you to extend battery life by using a darker coloured theme. This could also suggest that the new devices will come with AMOLED screens.

In any case, none of this is confirmed and neither are they groundbreaking (customisable themes in a mobile IM, anyone used Whatsapp before?). If RIM even wants to think about getting into the mobile race, it better have more substantial goodies to show.
