Sony reveals Xperia miro on Facebook

Sony Mobile has finally revealed its latest device, the Sony Xperia miro. It was revealed ahead of its intended 22nd June launch with its “Fast Forward” campaign on Facebook where users can have it uncovered much earlier. The new device comes with a 3.5″ screen which comes in 4 stunning colours – (white, black, black + pink & white + gold). No other hardware details have been revealed apart from the 5MP camera at the back which shoots video at 30fps, front facing camera, DLNA wireless connectivity, xLoud audio enhancement and it runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

What’s new on the device is that it comes with a unique illumination which looks like a sharp beam in the video. On the NXT series such as the Xperia S, P & U, Sony had incorporated the illuminated transparent belt design while the Xperia sola had a different “downlight” illumination effect underneath its elevated display block. The rest of its hardware details are expected to be revealed by next week. Judging by the size, this might be another mid-range device that’s similar to the Xperia U and Xperia sola. Hopefully it comes with removable battery and expandable microSD storage. In terms of design, the Xperia miro lacks a dedicated camera button and the volume rocker this time is located at the upper portion of the side.

More photos and videos of the Xperia miro after the jump.
