RIM today has announced 2 new entry level devices for Malaysia. The first is the BlackBerry Curve 9220 which is priced at an affordable RM600. In terms of specs, it comes with a 2.44″ screen that does 320×240, 512MB of RAM, 2.0MP camera, WiFi and a generous 1,450mAh battery. Being an entry level device, it supports only up to EDGE. What’s new on the 9220 is a dedicated BBM button which offers instant access for communication. With subscription rates for BlackBerry service plans getting cheaper and cheaper, the 9220 is a perfect pairing for an affordable social and communication solution.
The Curve 9220 is scheduled to be available in Malaysia starting June 4 from BlackBerry authorized partners and carriers. In addition, Tune Talk will be running a pre-order promotion from May 25 2012.
The other higher spec’ed Curve 9320 that comes with 3G will be coming to Malaysia as well. Availability and pricing to be announced soon.
