The Sony Xperia S which was launched in January is Sony’s current flagship model with dual core 1.5GHz. With the competition gearing up for quad-core smart phones, Sony isn’t taking things lightly. The next flagship device from Sony dubbed “Hayabusa” has somehow made an public appearance on Picasa. The sample shots are nothing to shout about but the EXIF data reveals a much newer firmware than the current versions. This time, it better be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.
In terms of specs, the LT29i is said to be running 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and comes with a 4″ and above display that pushes 1196×720 pixel resolution. The weird resolution hints the usage of on-screen capacitive buttons like the Galaxy Nexus.
Based on earlier leaked Sony launch schedule, the Hayabusa will be launched sometime in July with a higher price tag than the Xperia S. After which, another high end device is expected to appear in September with the working model name of ‘Mint 1’.
