Google is pushing the boundaries with its introduction of Gmail Tap, the newest and fastest way to type. Instead of focusing on the best way of cramming 26 alphabetical keys onto the mobile screen, Google is focusing on just 2. All the texting/emailing you need is now represented by a “dot” and a “dash” in Morse fashion.
With large button areas, you can Gmail Tap easily without looking at the screen. Even at meetings, you can tap on your lap while staying focus with your audience. To double up productivity, there’s even multi-email mode where you can type 2 separate emails simultaneously with 2 sets of Gmail tap keyboards.
Other software keyboard developers like SwiftKey isn’t letting Google have all the fun. They too have introduced SwiftKey Mono, that features the world’s longest space bar. For those who have used SwiftKey would appreciate its rather accurate predictive input based on historical data. With this new version, all you get is a big keyboard without the clutter of a standard keyboard. Since it’s incredibly accurate, you won’t need to type anymore! All you need is just a big spacebar and follow the choices that SwiftKey predicts. For more information on SwiftKey Mono, head over here.
