Chinese version of the Motorola RAZR looks like a cheap knock-off

On the left is the international version of the Motorola RAZR that the rest of the world is getting and on the right is the version that’s heading for China.

Specs are virtually the same except that the Chinese version adds support for TD-SCDMA radio. Other than that, you get the same Kevlar back panel, 8MP rear camera and 4.3-inch AMOLED qHD display, but man does the Chinese version of the RAZR looks ugly! It really does look like a cheap knock-off of the oh-so-sexy RAZR that we’re getting. And despite the Chinese version having the same ultra-thin 7.1mm body, the redesign makes it look fatter.

The best part, it is unknown why Motorola made the move to change the design of the RAZR considerably for China.

One more comparison picture after the jump.
