Malaysia’s first Symbian Belle device, the Nokia 701 arrives to Malaysia

First announced in August 24, Nokia’s brightest phone, the Nokia 701 is now here in Malaysia.

The C7 lookalike Nokia 701 boasts the distinction of having the brightest screen of any smartphone with a display capable of pushing out 1000nits, 300nits brighter than the former display brightness king, the LG Optimus Black at 700nits while the Retina Display on the iPhone 4 pushes a luminance of just 500nits.

The 701 features a 3.5-inch IPS LCD ClearBlack Display (640×360 pixel) which is also toughen by Gorilla Glass. Powering the Symbian Belle device is a 1Ghz processor with 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. Imaging is comes in the form of an 8MP rear camera with dual-LED flash capable of shooting 720p HD video and a VGA front-facing unit.

The Nokia retails for RM1,130 outright and is available now.
