RIM announces new range of BlackBerry Curve. Could be in Malaysia early September

RIM today announced not one, not two but three all-new BlackBerry Curves in its line-up of new smartphones that will feature that BlackBerry 7 OS. The Curve 9350, Curve 9360 and the Curve 9370 are designed to address a large and important segment of the global mobile phone market where customers are looking to upgrade their existing feature phones or existing BlackBerry Curve with an affordable, easy-to-use, full-featured smartphone.

“These new models will build on the incredible success of the BlackBerry Curve line and further expand the largest global launch of BlackBerry smartphones in our history,” said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at RIM.

Weighing in at only 99g, the new Curves feature a slim design with a 2.4-inch 480×360 screen and BlackBerry’s legendary tactile and easy to use physical QWERTY keyboard. There’s also an optical trackpad and 5MP camera (no word on whether it records HD videos. It should). The new Curves also continues RIM’s adoption of NFC with all three devices featuring the technology.

The BlackBerry Curve 9350, 9360 and 9370 are expected to be available in Canada this month and the rest of the world beginning September. No pricing details have been revealed.

A part from all this no other details were announced so we’re curious as to processors and built-in memory that the new Curves will be packing along with what differences the different codes bring. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
