After dual-core, 3D Androids will be invading Malaysia

When it comes to dual-core Android smartphones, Malaysians are spoiled for choice. From the LG Optimus 2X to the HTC Sensation and the Samsung Galaxy S II, we have amongst the latest and greatest Androids right here, right now.

So what’s the next innovation to come out of the Android camp? Well, after dual-core devices, the next big thing in smartphone trends seem to be 3D technology, and in the next couple of months, Malaysians will once again find themselves faced with a choice. This time, instead of contemplating on which dual-core device should you buy, the question you will be asking is “should I get a 3D phone or a 2D phone?”

It’s already an open secret that the LG Optimus 3D is coming to Malaysia, what’s left to be revealed is its launch date, its price and the telco that will be offering the device. But the Optimus 3D will not be the the only 3D phone in a predominantly 2D market. In the US, HTC is currently selling the Evo 3D, a dual-core, tri-camera 3D phone boasting a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and a 4.3-inch (940×540 pixel resolution) autostereoscopic (aka glasses free) 3D display. Word on the street is that the Evo 3D will also be coming to Malaysia before the end of this year.

While launch date and other important details like pricing are still unavailable at the moment, local gadget junkies will, for now, be happy to know that these cutting edge devices are making their way to Malaysia. Can we expect 3D tablets next?
