Interesting read. The evolution of the mobile phone from 1983 – 2009

The mobile phone has come a long, long way since its humble beginning as a simple communications device. Who could have predicted that the device that was invented solely for the purpose of making calls while you’re out and about would become a key component in the lives of so many people today.

Just imagine your life today without your mobile phone and how different it is now with the device. It’s amazing isn’t it?

We stumbled upon this very interesting post that lists the many iconic mobile phones from 1983 all the way 2009. It’s mesmerizing to see the many phones that filled our pockets not too long ago and to see how much things have changed.

It’s interesting also to note how much Nokia was a dominant force in the industry for so long and to see how far the have fallen behind today. A lot has changed since 1983.

Now, who can predict what the next 20 years in mobile phone evolution will produce?
