Smart Cover for the iPad 2, let’s not kid ourselves, it doesn’t do much than being just an overpriced screen protector. In terms of protection, the Smart Cover offers very little and when it comes to being a stand, although it gets the job done, there are other sturdier designs out there.
So what is the purpose of this Smart Cover then? It turns out with the right app installed, the Smart cover can actually make you smart.
Evernote Peek is an app that is designed to work with the Smart Cover. With Evernote Peek you pick a topic and the app will quiz you on the related topic. You peek under the Smart Cover to get the question and peek again for a clue. Open the whole cover to get the answer. You can create your own quizzes as well.
It’s an interesting concept, one that will definitely spur other developers to create app that use the Smart Cover as an interface. We’re assuming that this peek thing works with other similar cases as well as long as you can flip the cover in portions.
Still, it doesn’t change the fact that the Smart Cover does very little.
