Google Goggles for Android updated with new features

Google Goggles is an amazing mobile app which lets you search with your camera. From image search, text recognition, bar code scanner and even solving Sudoku puzzles, each release of Goggles has been fascinating.

This time around with version 1.4, they have added a couple of new features. Firstly, you can share your Goggles search results with your friends through Android’s share function. Since Google Goggle search relies on recognition, now it even allows you to suggest results for the not so accurate results. To do so, just rate the results at the bottom of the screen and you’ll be prompted to suggest a better answer. With this new input, Google will collect such data to improve its search results.

Another new feature is the business card recognition ability. By snapping a picture of a name card, Goggles will try to identify the various personal contact details and allows you to call or email the person directly or save it as a contact. We tried this feature and like any new innovations, it doesn’t really work accurately with the various business card designs out there.

Google Goggles 1.4 for Android is available for Android 1.6 and above. To download or update, head to the Android Market link here.
