LG has finally reveal its Optimus 3D at MWC boasting as the world’s first smart phone that comes with a stereoscopic screen, allowing you to view 3D without the need of glasses. Not only can you watch 3D content, the Optimus 3D also lets you capture 3D videos as well thanks to its dual camera set up at the rear.
In terms of hardware, the LG Optimus 3D offers a 1GHz dual-core OMAP 4 processor from Texas Instrumental, dual-channel memory for maximum throughput and dual memory set up (8GB + 4GB LP DDR2). The screen is 4.3″ wide and supports a resolution of 800×480. In terms of connectivity, it supports HSPA+, DLNA for wireless media streaming and HDMI 1.4. The 5MP camera is capable of shooting 1080p HD videos in 2D and a lower 720p HD videos in 3D format.
At the moment, it is launched with Android 2.2 Froyo pre-installed and 2.3 Gingerbread update is expected to come later on. Android Central, reporting live from Barcelona has posted a quick hands-on with the Optimus 3D and they seem to be pretty impressed by the 3D capabilities. Of course, it is hard to tell from the video and we can’t wait to try it out ourselves.
