The successor of the Nexus One is finally here! Nexus S is now official with its appearance on Google’s website. This comes after much teasing with leak pictures and videos online which leads us to believe that launch is imminent. Looking at the logo, it maintained the same “nexus” appearance while the “S” taken from the familiar Samsung Galaxy S.

The Nexus S itself offers rather similar specs with the Samsung Galaxy S that it is based upon. It runs on 1GHz Cortex A8 processor with 16GB of internal storage and 512MB of RAM. The screen which they call Contour Display is a 4.0″ Super AMOLED screen with support of 800×480 resolution. At the back there’s a 5MP Camera with assisted flash and also there’s a VGA camera at the front. Just like the Galaxy S, it comes with a 1500mAH battery.

Connectivity wise, it supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and a 3-axis gyroscope. Of course, the Nexus S runs on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread and it also comes with NFC (Near Fields Communication) supported. At the moment, T-Mobile is the only listed telco to carry the device and no details of international availability has been revealed so far. If you’re interested, there’s a “Registration of Interest” form when you click on Sign Up on the Nexus S site. For further details of the Nexus S specs, check out the full details here.
