We all love our gadgets and here’s a thought provocative video on our electronics lifecycle which is becoming a problem. The video shows how existing electronics manufacturing is causing various problems to the environment, workers health and the consumers. Each electronic device that we own or going to purchase today is what they call “designed for the dump”. As technology progresses, more devices are gone to waste and recycling isn’t really as green as it seems.
The message here is to relook at how electronics are designed and how to make it last with minimal waste in the long run. So far most corporations they claim aren’t giving full attention into this. It is suggested that Take Back laws should be enforced where all electronic junks are returned back to the manufacturer, prompting them to take electronic waste more seriously and make them more reusable. With efficient design, we are able to cut toxic substance, cut on waste and most importantly improve factory workers health and well being.
