You’ve already seen how the Nokia N8 works flawlessly on a LCD TV via HDMI, but what if you can touch the TV as well? Well, there’s an App for that, possibly.
Nokia Research Labs has been working on a prototype called Plug and Touch which extends its TV output capabilities to the next level. With your normal HDTV set up, it is possible to have “touch input” despite having no touch input capabilities.
This is made possible with the app’s hand gestures and “touch” recognition via the Nokia N8’s 12MP Camera. Although it is not a finished product but we admit, it is pretty good for a proof of concept. Imagine doing presentations or surf the web on your TV with this thing.
