Swype Texting Record smashed on a Samsung Galaxy S

Swype our favourite keyboard for Android now has a new record. A brit by the name of Melissa Thompson has written the text: “the razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human” in just 25.94 seconds on a Samsung Galaxy S.

This beats the previous record of 35.54 seconds held by American Franklin Page.

According to Ms Thompson, she used to send a lot of SMS about 40-50 text a day. She’s shocked to realise how fast she can really type and using Swype does help a lot.

At the moment, Swype has closed its Swype BETA program but you can register your details to be informed of the next release.
