Google has introduced a new experimental app development project called App Inventor for Android. This allows anyone to develop android apps with no programming knowledge required. What it offers is a development kit that lets you design your app WYSIWYG style on your web browser.
Sounds pretty cool and the possibilities are beyond the basic stuff. App Inventor allows you to access advanced features such as GPS, the accelerometer, sms, web components and so much more. While Google is plagued with buggy and spam apps, this App Inventor might open the floodgates for more crappy apps to come. However looking at the bright side, it also opens up a new opportunity for people with creative ideas who simply want to develop something new without the hassle of programming.
