During the iPhone 4.0 unveiling, Jobs was queried on wherether the global launch of the iPad will be affected given the strong demand for the device in the US.
He said “No. It’ll still be near the end of April, like we said“. We reitarate, he said that.
Today Apple issues a media advisory saying that the international shipments of iPads will be delayed by a month.
Reason?
“Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks“, the advisory read.
Apparently the call to delay the global release of the iPad was a “difficult decision” for Apple to make.
So for all you iPad hopefuls out there, we’ll all have to hold out unitl the end of May.
Apple will announce international pricing and begin taking online pre-orders on Monday, May 10. So be sure to mark your calendars.
But if that’s too long to wait for some of you, there are two ways for you to get your very own iPad, direct order via proxy or buy it at a cut throat price in Low Yat.
