AmBank ATMs go wireless

AmBank will be the first bank in Malaysia to use 3G for Secured Wireless Connectivity to their ATMs.

AmBank will be riding on Celcom’s and DiGi’s network to connect their wireless ATMs .

AmBank’s Managing Director for Retail Banking, Datuk Mohamed Azmi Mahmood said “the many benefits of wire-free networking include faster and easier installation that will allow AmBank to deploy more ATMs within a shorter time period,”.

He said the wireless technology also made it easier to re-locate ATMs to a more desirable high-traffic location where there were insufficient fixed line infrastructure.

And…that’s pretty much it really.
