As we usher the new year, Samsung is working extra hard to make up for lost ground with its upcoming Galaxy S6. The new device is expected to feature an all new look and now we have a peek of its specs from a screenshot from Antutu.
The new Samsung device with the model number SM-G925F was spotted having a 5.5″ Quad HD display that does an ultra-high 2560×1440 pixels resolution. This would give it a pixel density of 538ppi similar to the Oppo Find 7 and LG G3.
Powering the device is Samsung’s latest Exynos 7420 Octa-Core processor that’s clocked at 1.8GHz. This new processor supports 64-bit with 4x Cortex A57 cores and 4x Cortex A53 cores. Like the current Galaxy Note 4, Samsung is likely to release a Qualcomm processor variant which could be utilising its newer Snapdragon 810 variant.
For the first time in the Galaxy S series, the new device will be having 3GB of RAM and it also gets a bigger 32GB of on-board storage. For snapping pictures, the front will get a selfie-friendly 5MP shooter while the main camera is listed with a 20MP unit. This could a Sony sourced 20.7MP camera that’s being utilised on the Xperia Z series.
Out of the box, the SM-G925F is shown running on Android 5.0 and we can expect a similar interface as their current Lollipop build with additional multi-tasking features.
Overall, the Galaxy S6 hardware does look promising and hopefully the South Korean maker will impress us with its new “Project Zero” design approach. It was also mentioned that the Galaxy S6 will have an “Edge” version that will feature Samsung’s curve display capabilities.
