When the Samsung Galaxy S5 was announced, word has it that Samsung is working on a premium model that’s called the Galaxy S5 Prime or Galaxy F series. Samsung has improved the feel of the Galaxy S5 with a perforated rubberised back design which is a step ahead from its previous plasticky feeling flagships. The new device rumoured as the Prime, is expected to be even better with the usage of aluminium as shown here.
The side appears to be solid and smoother than the chrome finish that we get on the Galaxy S5. At the back, it retains the similar perforated look like its current flagship but this one looks slightly more upmarket. Also noticeable is that loudspeaker has been moved to the bottom of the device instead of having it at the rear like the Galaxy S5.
In terms of specs, the Galaxy S5 goes on par with other mainstream smart phones and the new prime is expected to widen the gap further. With Oppo and LG coming out with smart phones pushing beyond the Full HD (1920×1080) resolution display barrier, the Galaxy S5 Prime is expected to impress with a 5.2″ Quad HD display. This gives the device a very high pixel density of 568 ppi (pixels per inch), which is higher than the Find 7 & LG G3 display that does 538ppi on with their 5.5″ screens. In theory, you’ll get an even sharper and clearer picture but from our experience comparing a Quad HD versus a Full HD display, it is really hard to tell them apart.
Another game changer would be its processor which is said to be running on a newer Snapdragon 805 that’s mated to 3GB of RAM. Now this is a huge jump over its current Snapdragon 801 with 2GB of RAM that’s getting common in high-end smart phone models.
