Imagine if you’re first in line and being the first to own a brand new smart phone. After celebrating your ownership of this prized possession, you realised that the unit you had was buggy. This was exactly what happened to Alex Ioannou, the first ever owner of the Galaxy Nexus which went on sale in the UK today.
It was earlier speculated that he might be a saboteur from a “competing” brand but he insisted that he was having problems setting up his mail as the usual Gmail options were missing. It was also reported that his unit came with couple of weird stuff which is led to believe that he might be having a developer version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich installed. If a bug was found, there’s even an option that’s labeled as “Report a WTF Problem”.
After that, he managed to get an immediate replacement unit from the store which he later confirms that it’s working fine. What a hilarious way to start sales for the Galaxy Nexus but nevertheless it should be an isolated issue. Tentatively, the Galaxy Nexus is expected to make an appearance in Malaysia by next month.
