AirAsia has announced special fixed fare prices for return flights between Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur in support of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Semifinal match between Malaysia and Thailand. A return flight to Bangkok is priced at RM500, but only for certain conditions.
AirAsia CEO Tony Fernandez posted an announcement on Instagram to share the promotion. According to Fernandez, it’s a “once in a lifetime” promo, where customers will only pay either RM500 for an all-in return flight from KL to Bangkok, or THB 5,000 for an all-in return flight from Bangkok to KL.
The booking period is from today until 11 January 2023, and the travel period is from 7-8 January from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur, and 10-11 January from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok. Below are the lists of specific flights and flight times between the two cities.

All-in return fare is inclusive of airport taxes, MAVCOM fees, fuel surcharges, and “other applicable fees” according to AirAsia. Do, however, take note that the booking doesn’t include added value like checked baggage fees, seat selections, meals, and travel protection.
The AFF Semifinals will be held at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil this Saturday on 7 January 2023. So, the promotion only really makes sense for football fans from Thailand traveling to Malaysia.
But if you are keen on looking for return flights to Bangkok for RM500, you could only really book flights to Bangkok on 10 January and to Kuala Lumpur on 11 January the next day for that price. You can read more information on the promo through the website’s information page.
